Beginning the Journey
Would you like to have your youth receive Confirmation, First Communion, or Baptism? We would be so honored to journey with your family through this process.
We encourage families not to take this step simply because their child is the “right age” but to consider if now is the right time for your child and your family. If your youth and family are ready to prepare for one of the sacraments and to accept responsibility for helping your youth fulfill all requirements, then we encourage you to take the next step. If you would like to discuss other options, or your youth has a significant need for alternatives, please contact Joey Scancella with questions.
WHAT WE OFFER
CONFIRMATION- Any youth in the 10th grade or above is welcome to enroll in our confirmation program. Our Confirmation teens are expected to attend High School Ministry. There will be some additional meetings for teens and parents to attend in the fall.

NEXT STEPS
PREPARATION
As part of the preparation, we expect all youth in sacramental prep to fully participate in our youth ministry program which has separate meetings from our sacrament classes.
There will be some additional meetings for teens and parents to attend in the fall.
We do not have specific dates for confirmations, first communions, or RCIA Mass yet in the last few years confirmations have taken place in January or February, First Communions in February, and RCIA at the Easter Vigil.
SIGNS OF READINESS- How do I know my youth is ready for a sacrament?
An openness and desire on the part of the teen for the Sacrament
A relationship with Jesus especially in prayer
Regular Mass attendance
Time to devote to preparation
Enrolled in prior years of youth ministry or faith formation
BAPTISMAL OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE
We require a copy of the youths Baptismal Certificate (For Confirmation & First Communion) or Birth Certificate (For RCIA) be given to consider them fully registered, even if they were Baptized at St. Ann.
REGISTER
If your teen and family are ready to prepare for a Sacrament and to accept responsibility for helping your youth fulfill all requirements, then we encourage you to register them when registration opens. You will be registering your youth for our youth ministry program and during the registration form it will ask if they need any sacraments.
