GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The St. Ann Coordinator of Youth Outreach & Discipleship is a tenacious person who wants to use his or her background to impact our community and share the joy of the gospel. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth ministry and wants youth to come to know the person of Jesus and the richness of the Catholic faith. This person will be a self-starter, reliable, and driven. This role will require a firm understanding of our church’s mission and vision.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in a field such as theology or catechesis.

• Dynamic, passionate Catholic living out their faith.

• Must know all levels of social media.

• Must have working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.

• Excellent people relations skills for representing the parish and the youth ministry program.

• Ability to support teams and processes to carry out program objectives.

• Effective speaking and teaching ability.

• Excellent work ethic with high regard to completing tasks.

Job Description

• Bridge the gap between our Middle School Ministry and High School Ministry by forming high school students as missionaries to our middle school ministry and beyond. Empower high school students to share their testimony, lead small groups, and facilitate retreats.

• Outreach to middle school and high school youth. Supervise volunteers that are outreaching to youth. Hanging out with youth at school events, sporting events, school lunches and in the community. Help communicate St Ann vision to youth and parents that we encounter.

• Disciple youth and empower volunteers to do the same by creating a method and model easy to replicate.

• Collaborate with Children’s Ministry leadership to welcome rising middle school ministry students.

• Attend and help at middle school nights and high school nights to help make the transition from middle school to high school easier.

• Attend youth retreats, youth summer camp. Attend Mission Laredo.

• Attend St. Ann yearly events, such as the Carnival and parish missions.

• Actively recruit new volunteers.

• Office Expectations: Follow all church policies, communicate with staff, complete yearly and quarterly evaluations. Maintain office hours as agreed upon with Director. Attend regular parish staff meetings and collaborate with fellow staff members.

• Full participation in St. Ann culture and parish. Worshipping at St. Ann, participating in communal life here, serving, and giving here.

• Other related tasks requested by the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Chief of Staff, or Pastor of St Ann Church.

Skills:

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Fluency in Spanish. Not required but desired.

• Professional team player with exceptional tenacity and follow-through.

• People person and natural relationship builder.

• Creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.

• Ability to lead worship. Not required but desired.

• Ability to work across different cultures.

Following the phone call, you may be invited to schedule a series of interviews. Top candidates can expect in-person interviews to last 1-2 hours, initially with the Youth Ministry hiring team, and then with the St. Ann Pastor and Senior Leadership Team.
