LIFE GROUPS: BOLD, NEW GROWTH
Life Groups are small groups of teens and core members who are actively seeking more depth in community, formation, and activated discipleship.
*Clicking the button above and filling out the form helps us place you in the right group. You can let us know if there is anyone you would like to be in a group with (friends or a specific Life Group leader), if there is a part of town you would prefer to meet in (example: Coppell, Flower Mound, Lewisville… etc.), or any other details you want to share. Life Groups are flexible! So if there are certain things you are looking for, let us know and we will do our best to help. If you do not know anyone in Life Groups yet, that is totally fine :) Life Groups are a great way to make new and lasting friendships rooted in Christ.
We live life together in small groups of friends seeking a life with Jesus, emphasizing peer accountability and empowerment for mission.
We cultivate life within our hearts by learning how to live an abundant and consistent life of prayer through intellectual and spiritual formation.
We are propelled into life beyond, discovering the gifts God has given us to transform the world and finding opportunities to use them today.
WHO ARE LIFE GROUPS FOR?
Life Groups are designed for teens who find themselves seeking more within HSM. If you find yourself asking any of the following questions, Life Groups may be a great next step!
I know that Jesus is real and He loves me, but how does that change the way I live my life?
How am I supposed to pray every day?
How can I live confidently as a Catholic in the world today?
What does Jesus want me to do with my life?
LIFE GROUPS + 242 GROUPS
All teens involved in Life Groups will still be active members of 242 Small Groups. Life Groups are not a replacement to 242 Small Groups, but instead an additional opportunity for supplemental formation, intentional community, and missionary discipleship.
All HSM teens are automatically placed into a 242 Small Group that meets during our Sunday night weekly programming. 242 Small Groups are…
made up of 8+ members
an easy place to meet new people
a safe space to address doubts and fears
While every teen is invited to join a Life Group, membership will be by opt-in only due to the commitment level involved. Life Groups are…
made up of 4-8 members
a place to form deep bonds with close friends
a space to be intentionally formed and sent as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ

LIFE GROUP FAQ
-
Life Groups normally meet on Wednesday nights from 7pm-8:30pm BUT each group is free to set their own meeting times if needed. We maintain flexibility in meeting times and locations so that each group has the space to decide what works best for them. We are confident that we will be able to help you find a group that fits your needs!!
Current Life Groups meet in homes, at coffee shops and parks, on the St. Ann campus, and more.
-
HSM staff have a Life Group library of resources available for groups to rent/reference.
Similarly to meeting times and locations, the programming for each Life Group varies depending on the needs of the teens within each Life Group. The teens, Life Group leaders, and St. Ann Staff collectively discern the programming that will most effectively serve those within each unique Life Group.
Current Life Groups are engaged in Bible Studies, book studies on prayer, apologetic formation, practical equipping for missional work, vocational discernment, and more.

Each Life Group is led by HSM Core Members. Every Core Member is an active, prayerful, Spirit-filled disciple of Jesus dedicated to the mission of St. Ann Catholic Parish. They lead under the care, direction, and confidence of the St. Ann Youth Ministry Staff.
All Core Members are Safe Environment Cleared through the Diocese of Dallas. This process includes a background check, reference calls, interviews, and ongoing formation. Core Members are equipped with tools and guidelines that ensure the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual safety of all Life Group teens.

Life Groups are intended to be complimentary to the formation that teens receive from their parents, who are their primary catechists (CCC 2225-2226). Parents of Life Group teens receive quarterly Life Group Newsletters via email, which include personal updates from the leaders of their teen’s Life Group and information about the specific formation that their teen is currently receiving in their Life Group. Additionally, open doors of communication are always maintained between Life Group leaders, the parents of the teens in their Life Group, and St. Ann Youth Ministry Staff.
