All About Discernment with Br. Moses Owens

This past Sunday, we had a special night with visiting Dominican Brother Moses Owens!! Brother Moses used to be a Core Member at HSM before entering into religious life with the Dominican order. It was great to see him come back to give witness to Jesus through his journey of discernment. We learned that you can discover God’s will for your life through the every-day details, friendships, desires, and events of your life. Ultimately, your vocation is about God's love for you.

Don't let the things we say at Church stay at Church!! Use these questions to comfortably bring Jesus into your everyday conversations with friends, family, and even those you might not know very well (yet!).

• What forces shaped your personality and made you who you are?

• Do you sense that God might be calling you to do something specific with your life?

• Does choosing to follow God’s plan for your life mean letting go of your personality / who you are?

Jesus' greatest gift of love to us is the Eucharist. In fact, it is more than just a gift. It is also the Gift-Giver: Jesus gives us Himself every single time we receive the Eucharist.
