Base Camp is where 9th-12th grade teens go when they’re planning to join a Life Group! It is a series of 4 small group meetings hosted by HSM Staff and Core designed to help you acclimate to Life Group expectations.

When & Where is Base Camp?

Wednesdays from 7pm-8:30pm Sept. 25th, Oct. 2, Oct. 16, and Oct. 23. We will meet in a home near St. Ann each week (same place we used to host Bible Study each week). Join a Life Group to get the address!

Life Groups also meet on Wednesday nights so once Base Camp is over and your Life Group has been established, you’ll just continue meeting on Wednesday nights as a Life Group (if that is what works best for you and your group).

Can’t meet on Wednesdays? No problem. Just let us know when you fill out the Life Group form.

What happens at Base Camp?

Expect a small group of teens who are all interested in joining a Life Group, meeting up for community, some prayer, a short teaching about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, and an overview of what HSM Life Groups entail. Think of it as Life Group Orientation!

What about the HSM Bible Study?

Instead of Bible Study this year, we are trying something new. To help retain that sense of “larger discipleship community” we will host a Life Group Summit about once a month. All Life Groups will gather TOGETHER under one roof for one night of fellowship, teaching, and worship. We can’t wait!

Why are we making this change?

We believe replacing Bible Study with Base Camp & Life Groups will both INCREASE personal engagement (participation and sharing) of each teen involved while also DECREASING schedule conflicts (a major obstacle for Life Group meetings).
