Mission Laredo Code of Conduct
1. I agree to treat other participants, leaders, staff, and all people of Laredo with respect and understand that all adult leaders have the authority to correct me.
2. I will follow the schedule given to me including being on time for Mass in the mornings and for sessions in the evening and being ready for “lights out” at the end of the day.
3. I understand that alcohol, weapons (including all knives), fireworks, bullying, pornography, tobacco products of any kind, illegal drugs & profane or abusive language are NOT ALLOWED at any time during this trip. The result of this will be, being sent home at the expense of the parents.
4. I agree not to bring an iPod, MP3 player, and/or any other media player.
5. I agree that I will not use my cell phone at any point during the trip, including bus rides. Breaking this rule will result in having the cell phone taken and returned at the end of the trip. I understand that being disconnected from my phone for a week is a very important part of this mission trip. I also understand that a mission trip requires maturity and responsibility and I will exhibit that by not using my cell phone the entire week. I also understand that if I cannot follow this rule I may not be allowed on future mission trips. *For parents: I support the St. Ann staff in providing a technology-free mission experience. I accept that I will not be able to contact them throughout the week and I will not undermine the rules set forth for the week even for daily text exchanges. (Youth can always borrow a phone to call home in case of a special circumstance. And the staff will communicate regularly to all parents.)
6. I understand that this mission trip is a strenuous week. I do not expect any special treatment. I am prepared to eat the food that is served and put up with crowded living conditions. I also understand that if I am not able to handle the difficult conditions I may be sent home.
7. I understand that I represent St. Ann Catholic Church, and I agree to behave in a positive Christian manner at all times and to follow the above code of Conduct. I understand that the failure to do so may result in my parents being notified and that I may be sent home at my parents’ or guardians’ expense.
8. I will follow all dress code regulations, including but not limited to no tanks tops, and shorts MUST BE fingertip length and your shirt must not cover them.
